Congressman Al Green Together with Texas Children’s Hospital Met to Discuss Emergency Life and Death Issue Related to Hernandez Family

(Houston, TX) — On Monday, May 15, 2023, at 3:00 PM CT, Congressman Al Green and Texas Children's Hospital hosted the Hernandez Family to discuss the life and death issues surrounding Eduardo Hernandez, an undocumented 14-year-old immigrant, who was brought here by his mother at the age of 3 years and has recently received a 14-day deportation order.

Eduardo, a dialysis patient who is currently being dialyzed three time per week, returned from Mexico on the eve of Mother’s Day after having been deported on May 5, 2023. He has been allowed to return to continue receiving lifesaving treatment at Texas Children’s Hospital, where he is a patient. 

Dr. Michael Braun - Chief of Renal Service, Texas Children’s Hospital Professor and Renal Section Chief, Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine, provided a medical update, and Karina Jimenez, Associate Attorney with Naimeh Salem & Associates discussed the legal issues the Hernandez family are facing.
