Help us win cheaper, cleaner heat!

Hello Friend,

There’s one more critical climate bill the NYS Legislature must pass before the session ends on 6/8 - the NY HEAT Act! This bill would lower utility bills, end subsidies for new gas hookups, and enable utilities to build cleaner, more affordable heating systems.

Please take a minute to send an email to your reps asking them to pass the NY HEAT Act using our quick and easy email tool.

Then, join the upcoming events below!

Rally and Lobby Day! NY Climate Action’s Not Complete Without NY HEAT

Tuesday, May 23rd, 12:00pm-3:30pm
Albany Capitol Building, State St. and Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12224

RSVP here (a bus from Manhattan to Albany and carpool options are available on the form) | Invite your friends on Facebook

Join Renewable Heat Now and allies for a rally and press conference at 12:30pm on the Million Dollar Staircase in the NYS Capitol building in Albany! We have less than a month to go in the legislative session, which means we've got to TURN UP THE HEAT to PASS the NY HEAT Act!

Albany lawmakers think they have "done enough" on climate and energy this year, but it’s up to us to let them know they have not! They must also protect New Yorkers from rising energy costs and create a real plan to replace the gas system with cheaper, cleaner heating and cooling by passing the NY HEAT Act. We’ll also try to set up some lobby visits with key legislators, but no lobbying or policy experience is needed to attend!

Make Calls to Stop Radioactive Waste Dumping in the Hudson River

Every Wednesday from 3-5pm

RSVP here for the Zoom link

Holtec International, the multi-billion-dollar company in charge of decommissioning the Indian Point nuclear power plant, wants to dump roughly one million gallons of radioactive wastewater into the Hudson River as soon as this summer.

Join Food & Water Watch for virtual phonebanking, where they'll call Food & Water Watch members and ask them to call their State Senator or Assemblymember to reject this toxic plan.
