We’ve only got one planet, so we have to put in the work to protect our at-risk habitats
John,
Congress may not often agree, but if there’s one thing everyone, regardless of their political affiliation, can get behind, it’s that we need to conserve the biodiversity of our critical ecosystems.
Phrases like “net zero” and “carbon emissions” have a tendency to put Republicans on red alert because of the implications they have on the oil and gas industries — a.k.a. some of their biggest donors and investors.
But when we shift the focus off of what climate forward policies take away (oil and gas) and instead hone in on the big picture implications of how bad climate policies devastate the diversity of living creatures and their natural habitats, we’re able to bridge the climate divide and take meaningful steps toward securing a cleaner future for our planet.
That’s because everyone takes notice when our rainforests and the animals that thrive within them start to disappear, or when our coasts and associated fisheries become less and less habitable because of warming ocean temperatures.
Our SEEC Members are working in Congress every day to find common ground and ensure we continue passing policies that do right by our land and waterways — from protecting endangered species and at-risk ecosystems to fighting to keep our air and water sources clean.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, we can all agree: We only have one planet, so we have to put in the work to make sure we keep pushing forward on the path to a healthier, more sustainable future for all living creatures.

Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe.
