Does your local church have a copy of its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt letter? All U.S. United Methodist Churches are included under a blanket tax-exempt ruling from the IRS. This means your local church requests its letter from GCFA. It's best practice to request a fresh copy every few years. Get yours at www.umgroupruling.org

Along with the inevitable pressures and demands of shepherding a parish, campus ministry, or another group, clergy of color and those who come from another ethnicity, nation/cultural context than the one you are serving, may need to practice additional self-care.
