Our lawmakers just took a stand against our off-the-rails Supreme Court. 

Today, we joined Sens. Ed Markey and Tina Smith and Reps. Hank Johnson, Cori Bush, Jerry Nadler, and Adam Schiff in Washington to reintroduce the Judiciary Act. The bill would add four new justices to the Court to rebalance it after Republicans stole seats to enshrine an illegitimate right-wing supermajority.

But we can’t pass this bill alone — we need your help. Will you add your name to the petition to show your support for expanding the Supreme Court?

I came to this fight in 2021 because I knew that abortion rights would not be safe until we expanded the Supreme Court. And unfortunately, that has proven to be all too true. In addition to overturning Roe v. Wade, cutting off millions of Americans’ access to abortion last summer, the right-wing extremists on this Court also undercut America’s ability to fight the climate crisis, and opened the floodgates to even more unimaginable gun violence. 

Now, almost a year later, our access to mifepristone — a safe and legal medication that has been an essential part of abortion care for more than two decades — may end up in the same right-wing supermajority’s hands.

And that’s not all.

Across the board, the stakes for our rights and freedoms remain dangerously high this year, with everything from voting and LGBTQ rights to tribal sovereignty to affirmative action to environmental protections on the Court’s chopping block. So there’s no time to waste.
