At Civic Action, we strive to make the best arguments for progressive economic policies. Our founder, Nick Hanauer, has made it his life's work to restore the middle class and take on bad trickle-down ideas that enrich corporations and the super wealthy at the expense of everyone else.

One of the major ways we engage with folks is through email, but did you know we also have a show called Pitchfork Economics? Based on Nick's widely read essay, "The Pitchforks Are Coming... For Us Plutocrats," and his viral TED Talk about economic inequality causing global unrest, Pitchfork Economics invites the world's leading economic and political thinkers to explore the questions of 'who gets what, and why?'

The Pitchfork Economics podcast - just like radio and television - is a great way to learn more about what's going on in the world and hear bold, informed experts talk about policies that can fight inequality. Unlike radio and television, you can listen to our show on your own time, in whatever order you want, and on any compatible device.

Eighty-seven episodes in, we've interviewed experts like Robert Reich, Sen. Cory Booker, Naomi Klein, Sen. Mark Warner, Nina Turner, Gov. Jay Inslee, and many more. We're in the top 100 business podcasts on Apple, and we have over 2 million downloads.

We've had guests like Abigail Disney (yes, that Disney) talk about the catastrophic effects of trickle-down economics.

We've broken down why the American pharmaceutical industry is rigged to make a handful of people fabulously wealthy while everyone else gets screwed over.

We've analyzed why corporations are parasites, and how every company you can think of has benefitted from a public investment.

We've even gotten into how what Nick predicted - society allowing itself to become radically unequal, then eventually collapsing into an uprising or a police state - is already happening.

We're just getting started - and we hope you'll start listening to our show. Currently, you can sign up to download or stream our episodes on Apple, Spotify, or our website, Pitchfork Economics.
