It’s disturbing to think that any elected official’s focus could be on their own profits, rather than their constituents’ needs.

Signature Requested: Tell Congress to BAN congressional stock trading →

AXIOS: A group of bipartisan lawmakers, including some progressive Democrats and MAGA Republicans, have come together to push for banning members of Congress from trading stocks.

This is GREAT news John! We want to show Congress that this bill has major support from the CREW community.

Help us reach 10,000 signatures before the end of the week urging Congress to ban congressional stock trading →

John,

A bipartisan group of representatives recently introduced the Bipartisan Restoring Faith in Government Act – a bill that would ban members of Congress, their spouses and their dependent children from owning and trading stocks.

This is common sense and the public, across partisan lines, is overwhelmingly demanding that Congress finally act. 70% of Americans believe members of Congress need to be banned from trading stocks!

It’s disturbing to think that any elected official’s focus could be on their own profits, rather than their constituents’ needs. That’s why it’s urgent that Congress take action, and pass this bill.

We want to collect 10,000 signatures from CREW supporters telling Congress to pass this bill and ban congressional stock trading for good. If you sign right now, you’ll be the first signer from Washington→

At the beginning of the pandemic, we saw members of both parties made trades in the millions of dollars that appeared to be based on confidential information about the likelihood of financial devastation. During the recent banking crisis, we saw a flurry of trades of bank stocks by members of Congress.

Members of Congress have access to non-public information and the ability to influence legislation, giving them an advantage in the stock market over the rest of us. That’s not what public service is supposed to be about.

Congress is mired in a crisis of public confidence which threatens to undermine the entire government. It’s time for them to do the right thing.

Change is possible. Supporting the ETHICS Act and the Bipartisan Restoring Faith in Government Act should be an obvious choice for every member of Congress who cares about ethics and integrity more than their own profits.

We’re urging action, and we hope you will too by signing our petition to Congress today →

Thanks for signing,
