Did you know that this week is Mental Health Awareness Week, John?

This year’s theme is anxiety. We know that managing diabetes, or supporting someone who has diabetes, can be a source of anxiety so we wanted to remind you that we’re only a call away ( 0345 123 2399 ). But, if a one-to-one call with our Helpline team doesn’t feel right for you, you can also get in touch by email ( [email protected] ), or find a supportive community on our forum ( [link removed] ).

For many of us, the cost-of-living crisis continues to be an additional source of stress ( [link removed] ) so, if this is something that’s been making you feel anxious – you're not alone.

To help with any worries you may be having, we’ve created a cost-of-living hub. The hub is filled with advice on everything from budget-friendly meal plans to the additional support you may be entitled to.

Influence our work

Diabetes Communities in Action is a new group bringing together people affected by and at risk of developing diabetes to influence our decision-making. You’ll have the chance to connect with others affected by diabetes and be able to use your experiences to help shape what we do.

Ribbeting new research 🐸

Frogs could hold the key to a new type 2 treatment. Research on mice with type 2 diabetes has found that a secretion from frog skin could help to boost insulin production whilst also suppressing glucagon – a hormone responsible for raising blood sugars.

Best wishes,

PS – Earlier this year, we asked you to share your experiences in our survey. The survey findings have just been published ( [link removed] ) and have shown that too many people living with diabetes are still not receiving vital care. Last week we took these findings to parliament to call for urgent action.

Best wishes,
