Johh — The availability of safe, science-backed drugs should not be up to the courts, but take a look at what has been happening to the abortion pill:

Last month, an extremist judge in Texas issued a ruling with the goal of suspending the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval on mifepristone, the abortion pill. Just minutes later, a judge in Washington state issued a dueling ruling to protect the FDA's standard of approval in 17 states.

Most recently, the Supreme Court ordered a temporary stay on restrictions until the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals resolves a ruling — it is expected that the losing party will appeal to the Supreme Court.

This uncertainty is not acceptable, Johh. 23 years ago, the FDA approved mifepristone for commercial use after rounds of rigorous testing. For more than two decades now, mifepristone has shown to be a safe, effective method that has helped thousands of people access abortion.

That is why Diana and her Democratic colleagues in the House have introduced a bill to affirm once and for all that the FDA has the final authority to approve drugs for medication abortion.

If you support legislation to ensure that medications like mifepristone will never again be in danger from extremist agendas, add your name today >> [link removed]
