Hi John,
It’s Election Day! Have you voted, dropped your ballot off, or mailed it in yet? If not, ballots need to be returned to a ballot drop box by 8pm or be postmarked today. Find a ballot drop box near you here!
This year, local government and school board races are front and center. To help you find pro-environment and pro-climate candidates on your ballot, we’ve made several endorsements. Though we do not make official endorsements for school board races, we’ve put together an Environmental Voter Guide so you can learn where candidates stand on the issues you care about.
What's your voting plan for today? Will you be heading to your nearby ballot drop box after filling it out while sipping your morning coffee? Or will you be stopping by the mailbox or post office on your way to work? Elections like this shape our future and our daily lives, so be sure to vote and make your voice heard!
Happy Election Day!

Dear John,
Have you checked your mailbox yet? Election Day is May 16th, and your ballot should have arrived. We need to elect more environmental and social justice champions to create a more inclusive democracy and pass bold climate action. And it all starts by making sure you, your friends, your family, and everyone in our communities know where candidates stand on the issues you care about. We hope the information we’re sharing helps you make your voice heard.
At OLCV, we’ve endorsed the following pro-climate and pro-environment candidates for the upcoming election:
- Ana del Rocío for the Multnomah County Commission, representing District 3
- Lyndsie Leech for Eugene City Council, representing Ward 7
- Jodie Barram for Bend Park & Recreation District Board, Seat #2
- Miles Palacios for Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation District, Seat 4
- Tya Ping for Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation District, Seat 5
This year is also a big year for school board races. To elect the right leaders shaping the landscape of our future, we need to know where they stand. Though we do not have an endorsement process for school board races, we’ve put together our Environmental Voter Guide. In the voter guide, you’ll find candidates’ answers to three questions centered on their environmental values and how they plan to advance justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts for our kids.
Whether you plan to vote by mail, in person, or drop your ballot off at a drop box, be sure to check out the answers from candidates in your local school board race.
Happy voting!
Sincerely,
Britney VanCitters
