Andy Morales

John -

This weekend, I was talking with my dad about the ongoing debt ceiling negotiations. Yes, I know, what a typical father-son talk! Haha.

I brought up the fact that our Congressman and Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy’s current debt ceiling bill that passed through the House cuts the VA budget by 22%. He was absolutely flabbergasted.

You see, there are a lot of veterans here in Bakersfield and the rest of his district. They’ve been waiting for over a decade on McCarthy’s promise to build a VA outpatient clinic here.

The promise has already been broken, we know that. I still have to take my dad on a three hour round trip to get the health care he needs.

But now, with him proposing a literal ¼ cut of the VA budget, it’s clear that we’re probably never getting that outpatient clinic. Not only that, but my dad’s health care will be a lot more scarce, with thousands of VA jobs being cut.

McCarthy is spitting in the face of thousands of veterans, including my father and I won’t stand for it.

Will you split a donation between my campaign and Blue South before midnight tonight to help me stand up for veterans and finally put an end to Kevin McCarthy’s reign? We still need to raise $2,000 more to hit our mid-month goal.

Take it from my dad, veterans are angry. And so am I. Let’s kick Kevin to the curb.

Talk soon,

Andy
