Master of Arts in Ministry
The University of Dubuque is pleased to announce a new master's degree this fall. The 30-credit MA in Ministry meets the needs of the changing congregational landscape, providing students with a solid foundation in biblical interpretation, pastoral skills, and personal spiritual formation, and giving them the flexibility to take courses most helpful for their ministry context.
The degree prepares graduates to be pastoral leaders in local, regional, and missional contexts, especially those pursuing non-traditional pathways to ordained, lay ministry, and Christian formation positions.
Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, the MA in Ministry provides a flexible 100% online, asynchronous curriculum with optional residential opportunities that is ecumenically welcoming, biblically and theologically informed, practical in expression, and focused on serving the Church in its many contexts.
Courses are taught by UD seminary faculty who have extensive experience serving in local church contexts.
The Rev. Dr. Susan Forshey, associate professor of discipleship and Christian formation, directs the MAM program. She is also associate pastor at a local Episcopal congregation and spiritual director, providing each MAM student with academic advising and support for vocational discernment.
