Actions for the week of May 15, 2023

It’s that time again, activists! Here’s our monthly round up of quick, effective actions you can take today!

Action 1

⚡️🔋 Tell Senators Sanders and Warren: It’s time to introduce FERC to FREC!

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is hopelessly compromised by its historic ties to the fossil fuel industry and its oversight by fossil fueled officials like Joe Manchin. Meanwhile, the Federal Renewable Energy Commission’s top priorities are environmental justice, genuine public participation, and a rapid transition off of fossil fuels to renewables, energy efficiency, and battery storage.

Sign this petition demanding that the FERC be replaced by FREC 📋

Action 3

🛢🙅‍♀️ Urge your legislators: Shut the fossils up!

Call or email your legislators and encourage them to support the NY HEAT Act! This legislation (Bill Number S2016 / A4592) keeps gas companies from using your utility bills to pay for new natural gas pipelines and other people’s free gas hookups. It also caps the cost of home heating bills for working New Yorkers at 6% of household income.

Use this handy tool to contact your legislators and call on them to back the NY HEAT Act 📧📞
