Dwight Evans for Congress

John --

When Fred Guttenberg -- an activist who lost his daughter in the Parkland shooting -- shouted a much-deserved protest to Trump's insensitive and short-sighted remark, he was promptly escorted out of the House chamber.

This came just after Trump promised to "always protect your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms" during this week's State of the Union address.

The part Trump left out: 100 Americans, like Mr. Guttenberg's daughter, are killed by guns every day in this country, but the GOP-controlled Senate continues to ignore gun violence prevention bills currently gathering dust on Mitch McConnell's desk.

As we recognize National Gun Violence Survivors Week, it's a time to share and reflect on the stories of America’s gun violence survivors. Each and every instance of gun violence in our country leaves behind countless survivors bearing both physical and emotional scars.

That's why Dwight introduced the Resources for Victims of Gun Violence Act. It's critical we stand with those who endure the devastating effects that follow this violence. That means establishing an advisory council to help them learn about and access the resources, programs, and benefits that could help them put their lives back together.

We must ensure survivors of gun violence have the resources they need to recover from the trauma inflicted by guns. In honor of National Gun Violence Survivors Week, become a grassroots co-sponsor of the Resources for Victims of Gun Violence Act today:

Thank you,

Congressman Evans HQ
