For five straight days, Israelis endured an onslaught of 1,468 rockets from Islamic Jihad in Gaza. But because of our work together over many years prior, Israel had the resources it needed to defend its citizens.

During the relentless terror attacks, Iron Dome intercepted 430 rockets that could have otherwise killed innocent Israelis.

The Jewish state can’t afford to wait for a conflict to ignite to fill its stockpile of Iron Dome interceptors – it needs to always be prepared for every scenario.

Rabbi Devorah Marcus was on a trip to Israel with members of her San Diego community when the rockets started falling.


They experienced what life is like running to bomb shelters. And they witnessed firsthand the lifesaving impact of Iron Dome shooting down hundreds of incoming rockets out of the sky.


Rabbi Marcus thanked AIPAC for keeping her and countless Israelis safe. "Were it not for the work of AIPAC, the casualties would be much worse and the devastation would be unthinkable."

As we reflect back on the week, we should take pride knowing that our work together helped save countless lives. We should celebrate the fact that Israel is a strong and capable nation willing and able to protect its citizens. And we should know that our work is more crucial than ever.
