2023 is a major year for Virginia elections.

Every seat in our General Assembly is up for re-election, and Virginia Democrats will make clear that our policies are good for people, communities, and our economy, and that our legislators – state and federal – work hard for the neighbors we represent.

That’s why this year Abigail launched the Securing Progress Across our Nation PAC (SPAN PAC) to support candidates across the state and nation to help build strength for critical elections.

And so far, the PAC has been supporting amazing candidates across the Commonwealth! Here are some examples of the candidates we are supporting:

Phil Hernandez - Phil is stepping up to serve the City of Norfolk in Virginia's newly-drawn 94th District. He will use his experience to bring people together and get things done.

Lily Franklin - Lily is running for Delegate in Southwest Virginia's 41st District. Lily wants to ensure every child gets a world-class education, that our recent graduates can get good-paying jobs right here in their hometowns, and that working families have the resources they need to be healthy and successful.

Aaron Rouse – Aaron recently flipped Virginia's 7th State Senate District in a special election. After retiring from the NFL, Rouse returned home to Virginia and founded Rouse's House, a nonprofit focused on exposing youth and families in the community to a broader world of learning.

Josh Thomas – Josh is a veteran running for the House of Delegates. He is committed to prioritizing affordable housing, healthcare, and improving transportation for residents of Northern Virginia's 21st District.

Lashrecse Aird – During her three terms in the House, Lashrecse Aird earned a reputation as a champion for social, racial, economic, and environmental justice issues, and now she's running for State Senate in Virginia 13th Senate District.
