SUMMARY: Councilmember Trayon White, Sr. will hold a press conference on Tuesday, May 16th at 10:00 am, on the front steps of the John A. Wilson Building, to outline the budget items he is fighting for on behalf of District residents.
"My responsibility as an elected official is to fight for equity and inclusion," stated Councilmember White. "This budget does not reflect the values and priorities of District residents as it is. The budget shows a good faith effort, but we need more."
"I am fighting to reallocate money in the budget to include investments that will allow residents to thrive,” White continued. “My team and I are pushing the government to be more intentional about increasing its investment in areas the community needs most."
The Council will hold its first vote on the proposed budget tomorrow, May 16th and a second vote on May 30th.
