Hi John, it’s Lucas Kunce.
Six years ago, a plan was already in motion to corrupt our courts and force through a nationwide ban on the most commonly used abortion pill — in all 50 states, under any and all circumstances, without exception.
And my opponent for U.S. Senate in Missouri, Josh Hawley, thinks you’ll let him get away with it.
Sign on now if you agree: It’s time to protect our courts by banning Senators from voting on judicial nominees who’ve given to their campaigns.
Let me share a timeline of events explaining exactly how we got to this point:
IN 2017: Matt Kacsmaryk is nominated to be a federal judge for the north Texas district court. His confirmation stalled for years.
IN 2018: While his nomination languishes in the Senate, Kacsmaryk makes an investment in his future.
Kacsmaryk became a campaign donor to Josh Hawley, a fellow member of the Federalist Society — a group of corporate activist lawyers with funders including Chevron, Google, and the Kochs.
IN 2019: Now a U.S. Senator, Josh Hawley decides to make Kacsmaryk, his campaign donor, a federal judge. He confirms Kacsmaryk to the northern Texas district court — despite bipartisan opposition over Kacsmaryk’s Big Brother views on contraceptives and personal freedoms.
IN 2022: A lawsuit is filed in the northern Texas district court by activist lawyers seeking to ban an abortion pill that millions have used safely. Abortion medication accounts for over half of all abortions.
Josh Hawley’s wife led the suit. His donor was the judge.
APRIL 7, 2023: Hawley’s DONOR judge rules in favor of the suit led by Hawley’s WIFE, calling for a near-immediate ban on the abortion pill mifepristone in all 50 states.
This is the first time a judge has ever unilaterally tried to take a drug off the market against FDA objections.
THEN: In his official capacity as U.S. Senator, Josh Hawley filed an amicus brief asking the Supreme Court to end an injunction that blocked the ruling (in his wife’s lawsuit) by the judge (his campaign donor) to ban America’s most commonly-used abortion medication.
This is what corruption looks like — and in 2024, we’re going to make Hawley own it. Add your name if you agree that we need to ban Senators like Josh from voting on judicial nominees who’ve given to their campaigns.

Senators shouldn’t be in the business of using their position to benefit their family’s legal careers and activism — especially if there’s financial incentive to do so. And there shouldn’t even be a hint of campaign donations impacting who, when, and how a judge gets on a court.
When I’m in the U.S. Senate, I’ll vote to restore Roe v. Wade. But I’ll also fight to end corruption like this by:
- Barring Senators from voting on judicial nominees who’ve given to their campaigns.
- Barring Senators from lobbying any court to benefit an immediate relative.
The corruption ends here. Josh Hawley thinks he’s going to get away with this, we won’t let him. Add your name if you’re with me.
Thanks for helping us get it done,
