Voting Rights Lab
Hi John,

Though it may not be making as many headlines this year, election legislation remains a steady focus of state lawmakers.

In our new, first-of-its-kind report examining state-level election legislation year-over-year, we compared election bills considered by state legislators in the first quarter over the last three years.

While most voting bills introduced or considered in the first quarter of 2021 and 2022 would improve voting access, we’ve seen a greater share of restrictive laws enacted in the same period this year.

Our findings provide insight into where voting rights policy at the state level is headed in months and years to come. Learn about what we found.
