Auditor Nicole Galloway just released her audit on Senator Hawley revealing even more corruption by our current Attorney General.

Audit Reveals Corrupt Attorney General

You know I hate sending more than one email per week, but we had more breaking news.

Auditor Nicole Galloway just released her audit of Senator Hawley's Attorney General's Office. It reveals that he improperly used taxpayer-funded resources to further his political ambitions.

But that's not all the audit shows. The audit includes lots of emails between the Auditor's Office and our current Attorney General's Office.

It's very clear that our current Attorney General abused his power and interfered in the investigation.

Instead of cooperating with the audit, which was requested by the Missouri Secretary of State, the Attorney General repeatedly tried to derail the process.
Read the Audit ([link removed])

The Attorney General attempted to direct the audit of his own office, a violation of Missouri’s Constitution and the separation of powers in our government. (p. 411).

The Attorney General demanded that the Auditor violate Missouri’s whistleblower protections for employees of the Attorney General’s Office. (p. 428)

When he didn’t get what he wanted, the Attorney General threatened the Auditor with what appears to be a felony charge. (p. 458).

And at the end of it all, the Attorney General asked the Auditor to leave out any mention of his interference in her final report. (p. 434).

This abuse of power is unbecoming of the Office of the Attorney General. The Attorney General's behavior now requires the Auditor to find her own legal counsel, potentially adding costs to the taxpayer.

I hope the Legislature will read this audit in its entirety and consider investigating the Attorney General for misconduct. We cannot allow our chief law enforcement officer to bend the law whenever it suits him and those he wants to help avoid accountability. He must understand that this office does not belong to him. It belongs to all Missourians, and we all deserve accountability in our government.

And if our Legislature does not act, We the People must. It's time we have an Attorney General who respects the office, works for us, and ensures justice is done, regardless of party. This is another reason why we are running the most transparent campaign in America and why we will run the most ethical Attorney General's Office in the country when we kick corruption out of the office in November.

Taking back the Attorney General's Office is essential for democracy and justice in our state. Join us today.
