I’ll be honest, folks — in a moment, I’m going to ask you to pitch in ahead of our mid-quarter fundraising deadline tonight. But first, I hope you'll give me a chance to explain why your support is so important, especially today.

After launching my reelection campaign, several potential Republican candidates have been mentioned in the press. Some of these folks are incredibly extreme — they’ve supported Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” that the election was somehow stolen from him, they’ve pledged to enact a nationwide abortion ban, and they’ve threatened to make cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

Since Republicans only need to flip two seats to reclaim the Senate majority next year, we can count on them spending big to beat me and flip Wisconsin red. If we want to keep control of the Senate from falling back into Mitch McConnell’s hands, we cannot afford to take Wisconsin for granted.

Roll Call, CNN, and The Hill have all named me one of the most vulnerable Senators on the ballot next year. And after Republicans spent $77 million on Wisconsin’s Senate race last year, you can bet dollars to donuts that they will pour millions more into our state to beat me.

We must come to terms with the hard truth that Republicans could easily squeak by here and win if we do nothing to stop them. That’s why our team has set an ambitious mid-quarter goal, so we can build the resources we’ll need to overcome right-wing mega-donors, hold onto this seat, and continue building on our progress for working families.

But honestly, fundraising has been particularly slow this month, and right now, we’re tracking behind on hitting our target.
