Friend,

Last Friday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was in Peoria, Illinois for a massive fundraiser with the Illinois Republican Party. Eric's new opponent was in attendance, rubbing shoulders with DeSantis and the big donors backing him.

DeSantis used this platform to tout his extreme agenda -- banning books, abortion, and passing his bigoted "Don't Say Gay" bill. It's a terrifying glimpse into what a DeSantis White House would look like. It's also a clear indication about the type of campaign Eric's opponent will run.

We can’t let this go unchecked -- not in our own backyard. So today, we're running a fundraising push of our own: Please chip in $3 to help us counter any fundraising edge our opponent received with DeSantis last week. If everyone reading chips in today, we can make this backfire.

It’s no secret that Eric's race will be one of the most hard-fought House contests in the entire country. National Republicans are hoping to unseat Eric early, capitalizing on his vulnerability as a newly-elected representative.

But this isn't just about winning one House race, it's about stopping extremism from creeping into our district. We need a representative who will push back against the GOP's radical agenda.

Eric Sorensen made history by becoming the first openly-gay federal representative elected in Illinois state history. With DeSantis in town rallying up the GOP base, we need to show Eric that we have his back:Can you donate to day to help us out raise them?
If everyone reading this email can chip in $3 right now, we’ll nullify whatever cash boost our opponent got alongside DeSantis. Can you donate today to help us out raise them?

Thanks,

Team Sorensen HQ
