When we defeated the “Orange Curtain” of Republican control in 2018 and flipped 4 congressional seats from Red to Blue, it was the hard work and commitment by people like Joanna who helped save our country’s democracy. We were not politicians running for office to check the next rung on the political ladder. We were committed to serving the Greater Good, just like Joanna Weiss is today - and has been throughout Orange County for years and years.
The stakes are too high to get this choice wrong and I call on all Democrats to rally behind Joanna. Rep. Katie Porter barely won this House district despite outspending her Republican opponent by an unprecedented $23 million [9 times more than her opponent]. This time, we can't rely on a war chest that big. While we thank Dave Min for his service to the party, with his recent DUI he should immediately withdraw from the race. If it was a Republican candidate who got a DUI, Democrats would demand exactly that. Let’s not be hypocrites - join me in calling on Dave Min to quit the race.
In the general election, voters deserve better than choosing between two candidates with criminal records. They deserve a representative who will put their interests first, every time. That is why I am enthusiastically supporting Joanna Weiss for CA-47, clearly the best candidate to win the general election.
