Tonight at midnight we close the books on an important mid-month fundraising deadline for our campaign. But is it a real deadline?
Yes and no… let us explain.
No, it’s not a real deadline in the sense that we are legally required to report our fundraising numbers after tonight.
But yes, it’s a real deadline in the sense that it marks the halfway point to our FEC deadline and that makes it a critical and understandable point to mark our progress.
And what is very real is that our fundraising has slowed dramatically since our last FEC deadline ended. And we are using tonight’s “deadline” as a moment to reset our goals and spending decisions.
So please. We don’t want to cut. Our budgets are set month-by-month based on what we need to win. So as we get closer to midnight, we’re asking:
Can Ruben count on you to contribute $5, $10 or whatever you can afford to our campaign before our mid-month fundraising deadline ends tonight at midnight? It all adds up when we’re all chipping-in.

We don’t expect anyone to give to every email we send, but we hope you will chip in a few bucks to this one. It’s important.
