House Passes Historic Border Security Bill as Crisis Intensifies |
On offense: Last week, the House passed a border security and enforcement bill that addresses nearly every policy recommendation provided by a conservative coalition led, in part, by The Heritage Foundation.
- The Secure the Border Act would end “catch-and-release,” expand penalties for visa overstays, reduce incentives for illegal immigration by mandating nationwide E-Verify, close legal loopholes, resume wall construction, and more.
- “Whatever we do, we need to act quickly. The time to restore order to the mounting chaos at our border is running out,” warns Simon Hankinson, senior research fellow in our Border Security and Immigration Center. Read why here.
- The Biden administration, meanwhile, is focusing resources on processing illegal crossers rather than on securing the border and preventing illegal crossings. Read more here.
Watch: To see just what President Biden’s open-border policies have unleashed, The Daily Signal was on the scene with drone cameras to capture the events. Watch the footage here.

The Great ‘Book Banning’ Myth |
Fiction: The Left is in hysterics over an alleged rash of book bans by school libraries. It turns out to be a big lie.
- Heritage found that 74% of the books that PEN America said were banned from school libraries are actually available.
“Manufacturing a book-banning crisis where none exists only serves to undermine public discourse,” says Jay Greene, senior research fellow in the Center for Education Policy. Read more here.

Biden’s Electric Vehicle Push Is Unplugged From Reality |
Shocking: President Biden wants two-thirds of new cars to be EVs within a decade. But the U.S. can’t get the materials needed to do that, the electric grid couldn’t handle that many EVs, and China would be the huge beneficiary.
- Biden’s EV push reminds EJ Antoni, a research fellow in the Center for Data Analysis, of a soliloquy by Don Quixote: short on facts, long on rhetoric, and filled with unrealistic expectations.
