Dear Friend of MCV,
We are so close to getting Maine’s offshore wind industry off the ground!
This Thursday, the Legislature’s Energy, Utility, and Technology Committee will hold a public hearing on LD 1895, “An Act Regarding the Procurement of Energy from Offshore Wind Resources” – the bill to responsibly advance offshore wind in Maine.
I’ll be testifying at the hearing and plan to share this petition to demonstrate to legislators just how many Mainers support the development of offshore wind. We expect opposition, so legislators need to hear from as many Mainers as possible to ensure that this critical bill continues to move forward. Will you add your name? [[link removed]]

Maine has a chance to lead the nation in developing an industry committed to strong equity and labor standards, environmental monitoring and mitigation, consistent collaboration with the fishing industry, and technological innovation.
The University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center has long been a leader in floating offshore wind technology research and development. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Maine to develop a new clean energy industry using technology created right here in our state.
Offshore wind will provide a stable and affordable source of electricity, protecting Maine people and businesses from the volatile price spikes associated with dirty oil and gas. Offshore wind in the Gulf of Maine will produce large amounts of clean energy, bringing Maine closer to achieving our goal of 100% clean energy by 2040 [1].
This moment is our opportunity to demonstrate widespread support for responsibly developed offshore wind in Maine. Join us and tell Maine lawmakers that you support offshore wind now. Click here to sign the petition. [[link removed]]
Thank you for your support.
Onward,
