Yesterday was a dark day for our country. Trump's acquittal by
the Senate despite overwhelming evidence leaves a permanent scar
on our democracy.

There is little doubt that Trump plans to use this moment to be
even more divisive and destructive. We saw an example this
morning in his remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast, where he
attacked Mitt Romney and others. We saw it again a few hours
later when he played "Dear Leader" to his Republican
Congressional supplicants at the White House.

It's up to us now to defend the integrity of our American
democracy. We have a duty to find the fortitude to do the hard
but necessary work to repair what was broken yesterday -- and move
forward.

Here in America, we have no kings. No person, not even the
president, is above the law.

With your support, we will win in November and restore the
health of our democracy and the integrity of the rule of law.
