A vibrant orange and black creature with beautifully patterned wings flutters
gracefully through the springtime air. It is a monarch butterfly who has just
completed her epic migration journey back north. She’s exhaustively searching
for milkweed -- a vital plant that is the only place where she can lay her eggs
and will also serve as the only food source for baby caterpillars once her
offspring hatch.

But where has all the milkweed gone? Over the last two decades, some 850 million milkweed plants have vanished. A key reason why the North American monarch population has dropped by an alarming 90%.

Scientists have linked the dramatic decline in milkweed to a toxic chemical
called glyphosate, the active ingredient in Bayer-Monsanto’s Roundup. But while
this dangerous pesticide is DECIMATING milkweed and THREATENING precious
monarchs, the pesticide corporation has continued to push sales of its flagship
product -- even manipulating science and obstructing regulations to COVER UP the truth of Roundup’s harms!
