Folks, Trump’s State of the Union address was an absolute disgrace.
On top of the outright lying, he offered a dark view of an America in which healthcare is taken from the sick, tax cuts are given to the wealthy, and our climate crisis is ignored.
It doesn’t have to be like this. California is proof that you can still have economic growth while investing in progressive policies. In fact, they go hand in hand.
California continues to set new records. We’ve had 118 months of job growth and are experiencing record-low unemployment -- all while meeting our climate goals, making healthcare more affordable, and investing in our workforce.
We are nothing less than the progressive answer to a transgressive president.
I will continue standing up for our values: A woman’s right to choose, labor rights, LGBTQ rights, access to high-quality healthcare and mental healthcare, protecting our air and land from Trump’s polluters, and common-sense gun laws to end the gun violence epidemic.
