Folks,

For decades, conservatives have out-organized us in so-called "red states."

Not only that, but boom-and-bust political spending has led to un-strategic oversaturation in certain states, while little to no resources are given to states in Groundwork Project’s target regions: The Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains.

This is why I founded the Groundwork Project, to hone in on hyper-local organizing and help sow the seeds for real change across our entire country, not just a handful of states.

We're supporting community organizers year-round, not just during election season — and our work is making an impact.

In states previously assumed to be “dark red” — like Georgia, Missouri, and Mississippi — organizers are banding together to win elections, pass ballot initiatives, and build Democratic power.

Can you pitch in today to help us meet our mid-quarter deadline so that we can continue providing wrap-around support to our grantees? [[link removed]]

When it comes to so-called "red states," we've got a lot of work to do.

Many of these states have Republican majorities in the state legislature who are introducing dangerous legislation that targets reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ equality, voting rights, and more — and they've been doing so for years.

They're banning books that teach our kids Black American history, and censuring non-binary and transgender Democratic lawmakers from their state legislatures for sticking up for the LGBTQ+ community.

These strategies are designed to make us feel powerless and hopeless, but I know we have what it takes to overcome their tactics and make a difference at the local level and beyond.

By pitching in today, you'll help us continue building grassroots power for historically underrepresented and disenfranchised communities across the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains. I hope I can count on your support:
