Last week, the Senate confirmed President Biden’s 126th federal judge for a lifetime appointment.

Confirming qualified judges of integrity is an important step toward repairing the damage done during the Trump years when nominees for lifetime appointments were plucked right off the Federalist Society’s roster.

But if we lose control of the Senate next year, Democrats will lose our ability to confirm highly qualified judges to the bench.

So many important decisions that affect Americans’ daily lives are made in the courts. Democrats need to do everything in our power to prevent more far-right judges from securing lifetime appointments to the federal judiciary, including the Supreme Court.
