PANAMA NEEDS HELP TO PROCESS THE MIGRANT FLOWS COMING THROUGH THE DARIEN GAP!
|
|
This week, I welcomed officials from the Panamanian government, including the Foreign Minister of Panama and the Ministers of Commerce and Security, to my congressional office in Washington.
They all expressed concern that the small pass separating Panama from Colombia, the Darien Gap, is currently unable to withstand the flow of migrants. This is causing a heavy burden on Panama and all the other countries that fall on the migrants' path.
With Title 42 having expired this week, it is important we work with our Latin American partners to bring order back to our continents!

WE CELEBRATE OUR MIAMI TOURISM
AND TRAVEL INDUSTRIES!
|
|
Miami is one of the most welcoming cities in the United States, and tourists from around the world love to visit us for our beautiful beaches, world-renowned shopping, and best-in-class dining.
Our economy relies on the billions the millions of tourists who visit us each year spend, and I am working with organizations that promote the economic resilience of our communities to make sure our city remains open to the world!

I am pleased to announce that my office is hosting the 2023 Congressional App Challenge.
The Congressional App Challenge is a competition aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The Challenge is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education.
This competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience. We strongly encourage students of all skill levels to participate, enabling them to learn how to create their own apps.
