I will never forget her – and I thank her every day for her unbelievable strength, sacrifice, and the unconditional love she gave to me and my siblings.
I want to wish the happiest and most heavenly Mother's Day to the woman who made me who I am and to the children who've made me the luckiest mom in the world!
As someone who's experienced the struggles of being a single mother with little access to healthcare, I also want to use this day to amplify a message to legislatures and governors around the country: do more to support moms.
From increasing wages, to expanding paid family leave, to making education more accessible, there's a lot more our country can and must do to alleviate the cost of raising children. And I'm running for office because I know that my voice at the table will make a difference in Richmond.
So to all: a Happy Mother's Day — and may we continue the work of making our commonwealth and our country a more prosperous place for all the moms out there!
