John, Cyclone Mocha made landfall in Myanmar and Bangladesh this morning bringing severe wind, heavy rain and dangerous storm surges to communities up and down the coast. Millions of children and families are in danger.
This is a rapidly developing situation, but it is already clear that the road to recovery will be long, and children urgently need your support.
In emergencies like war or natural disaster, children are always among the most impacted. The region affected by this cyclone is home to millions of people who were already displaced or living in poverty, making this an especially dire situation.
The Children’s Emergency Fund allows us to act quickly when crises strike, providing lifesaving resources and support when and where they are most urgently needed. Thanks to this fund, our teams are already hard at work assessing the situation in Myanmar and Bangladesh and working to meet children’s most urgent needs. And we will be there as long as we’re needed to ensure children are safe.
Thank you for everything you do to help children around the world build brighter futures. We are especially grateful for your support in these urgent moments.
