This Mother’s Day, I’d like to take a moment to tell you about my mom.

Betty Ferguson was born in Everett and she taught special education in our public schools — all while raising 7 kids (6 boys!) with my dad.

My parents were Dan Evans’ Republicans and often hosted candidates for office in our living room. That was my first exposure to campaigns! My mom instilled in me a respect for public service and our education system that ultimately led me to the career I have today.

My mom turns 95 next month and last week I gave her our first Bob Ferguson for Governor Exploratory Campaign button.

Today I will be celebrating my mom and my wife Colleen — with our kids Jack and Katie.
