Happy Mother’s Day! 

I want to take a moment to reflect on the impact that mothers have on our lives and express my gratitude for the tireless work they do. Mothers are the backbone of our families, our communities, and our nation. Their selflessness, compassion, and unwavering dedication deserve our utmost appreciation and support.

I'd be remiss if I didn't begin by acknowledging the incredible woman who shaped my own journey: my mother. Her belief in my potential has been a guiding light throughout my career, and I owe much of my success to her unwavering love and support. As one of the first female television newsreaders in the country, she helped put a big crack in that glass ceiling and taught me that anything was possible if I put my mind to it. 

Today, as a husband and a father, I’m fortunate to have another extraordinary woman by my side: my wife, Caroline. She’s a Super Mom and does an absolutely amazing job at everything. Witnessing her boundless love, strength, and dedication to Adeline and Prescott has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. I’m forever grateful for her.

While Mother's Day is a time of celebration, it’s also an opportunity to recognize that far too often, the work of mothers goes unnoticed and underappreciated. Society often fails to acknowledge the tremendous challenges they face and the invaluable contributions they make. It’s high time we do better, not just for the mothers in our lives but for all mothers across our great nation.

We must fight for comprehensive paid family leave policies, ensuring that no mother has to choose between a paycheck and spending precious early moments with her newborn. We must protect reproductive health care rights, guaranteeing that every woman has control over her own body and access to the care she needs. And we must strive to make medical care affordable and accessible, easing the burden on mothers who tirelessly care for their families well-being. 

This Mother's Day, let's celebrate the incredible women who have shaped our lives, express our deepest gratitude for their boundless love and sacrifice, and commit ourselves to the fight for a better future for all mothers. Together, we can make a difference and create a society where every mother is celebrated, appreciated, and empowered to reach her full potential.
