Happy Mother’s Day, folks!

I spent thirty years managing nonprofit organizations and tackling complex, deeply-rooted issues like homelessness, school dropout, and education discrepancies.

But the job that’s kept me up at night the most is motherhood, hands down! And I don’t just mean 3 AM diaper changes and monsters under the bed.👶 👹

I’m talking about lying awake, thinking about all of the things I’m determined to make better for my kids and all the things that make me worried about the future.

I know my mom felt the same way when my siblings and I were growing up, and I’ll always be so grateful for the times she gladly took less so we could have more.

As a member of Congress, I have a special responsibility to tackle the challenges of the future not just for my own kids, but for every child who calls NV-03 home. I take that responsibility very seriously.

That’s why I’m fighting to make sure that every girl growing up today can count on the same rights and freedoms I’ve enjoyed.

That’s why I’m fighting for every young Nevadan to be able to enjoy the natural beauty of our state for generations to come, free of the dangers of droughts, storms, and wildfires.

That’s why I’m fighting for an education system that gives students the guidance they need to grow into compassionate, capable, and responsible adults.

That’s why I’m fighting for an economy that works for working people and gives every child an equal shot at prosperity.

There’s so much work left to do before we can say that we’ve set the next generation up for success. But unfortunately, the GOP is desperate to drag us backwards. If we want to continue our forward momentum, we need to put some real muscle into this tug-of-war.
