Send a Mother's Day Ecard

John — There's still time to send a Mother's Day ecard to show your appreciation for your mother or mother figure (see our original email, below).

Our ecard can be used to express your gratitude, share a fond memory, or simply send a heartfelt message. It's a great way to connect with your mother or mother figure, especially if you are unable to be with them in person. Take a few minutes now and let your mother figure know you're thinking about them today, and every day.

----------

John — Mothers and mother figures play a vital role in nurturing, supporting, and shaping the lives of everyone around them. These caregivers often put the needs of others before their own, sacrificing their time, energy, and resources to ensure the well-being of their loved ones.

That’s why, this Mother’s Day, we’re encouraging all of our supporters to use our ecard tool to send the mother figures in their lives a special message.

Simply click this link, fill out the form, tell us your mother figure’s name, and share a story about how their care impacted your life. We'll take your responses and create and email you a beautiful ecard that you can then send to them personally.

Honoring mothers and caregivers can take many forms, such as expressing gratitude, giving thoughtful gifts, spending quality time with them, and acknowledging their contributions to our lives.

As we work to build a society and economy that centers care, we believe it is important to take the time to show our appreciation to those who poured so much into us. A simple ‘thank you’ can go a long way in creating a more compassionate and caring world.

While Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate and honor mothers and mother figures, it can also bring up difficult feelings for those who have lost their mothers, have strained relationships with them, or are unable to become mothers themselves.

We believe it is important to recognize and validate these complicated feelings, and to offer support and understanding to those who may be struggling during this time.

Caregiving, whether it is provided by a mother or someone else, is essential to the well-being and development of individuals and communities. Mother's Day can be used as an opportunity to start important conversations about the value and significance of care in our lives.

So take a moment today and send an ecard to anyone who has acted as a mother figure in your life — including grandmothers, aunts, teachers, and more. It’s a simple yet meaningful way to honor the diverse and complex experiences of caregivers, including mothers, and acknowledge the challenges and sacrifices they make in providing care for those they love.

Thanks for all that you do,

Dignity, Unity, Power

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
