John, we wanted to reach out and give you an update on Senator Durbin’s work to protect Americans from the most recent reckless policies of MAGA Republicans.

Last week, Senator Durbin spoke on the Senate floor to call out Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy for threatening the first-ever federal debt default in U.S. history if the Democrats don’t go along with his budget cuts.

MAGA Republicans' proposal would cut funding for important services like:

*First responders and veterans.
*Affordable health care for families.
*And on top of that, they're also looking to cut access to food assistance programs for millions of Americans, which is just wrong.

We can't let these harmful policies take effect and put people's lives at risk. That's why we need to stand together and fight against them.

To make things worse, if we don’t raise the debt ceiling, our country will go into unprecedented economic turmoil.

MAGA Republicans are playing partisan games with the debt ceiling, which is not only dangerous, but fiscally irresponsible. Making lawmakers choose between defaulting on the federal debt or cutting programs and services that many Americans depend on is not a game we will play.
