Honey and Lux grooming each other in the pasture with text, It's not too late to adopt

Dear John,

This Mother’s Day, give a gift that honors all families and creates new beginnings.

A mother’s love creates sanctuary. Trapped in animal agriculture, most farm animals are denied the chance to be a mother — or have a mom. But thanks to kindhearted supporters like you, we can provide a protected space for rescued farm animals to form loving bonds and remain together for the rest of their lives.

Right now, you can symbolically adopt sanctuary residents Honey and Lux cows (above), Bear sheep, Hal goat, or Ashburn hen. With a one-time $35 gift, you help us honor the lifelong promise of sanctuary and support our work to rescue and protect farm animals like them.

In gratitude, we’ll send you a digital adoption certificate featuring your chosen resident(s) that you can share as a heartfelt Mother’s Day gift with someone you love (including yourself!). All adopters will also become official Farm Sanctuary members with perks, including our member magazine, Sanctuary.

Meet the inspiring residents who’d love to be part of your Mother’s Day!

Honey and Lux

Honey and her adoptive son Lux were raised on a farm for dairy and meat. Honey likely endured her children being taken away and slaughtered. After surviving such immense loss, Lux helped her heal. When the farmer had a change of heart, we were able to rescue the bonded family and give them sanctuary — a safe space for life.

ADOPT THEM

Bear

Bear was a tiny newborn lamb when she lost her mom. She was found alone with her umbilical cord still attached in a barn near Los Angeles. Denied the chance to nurse from her mother, Bear was in a critical state but survived thanks to our urgent medical attention and dedicated care. Today, Bear is a vocal, friendly adult who loves to meet our California sanctuary visitors.

ADOPT HER

Hal

Hal was confiscated from a California slaughterhouse along with his mother, Annie, and twin brother Goodall. Though the family lived together peacefully for many years at our New York sanctuary, Annie and Goodall have since passed away. Though he undoubtedly misses their presence, Hal remains a mellow, independent goat who loves getting treats from caregivers.

ADOPT HIM

Ashburn

Ashburn was rescued from a factory egg farm facing “depopulation” in the midst of COVID-19. Thankfully, the farmer decided to rehome instead of kill the 634 hens. Fourteen of whom, including Ashburn, we welcomed to our California sanctuary. Today, Ashburn and her friends enjoy exploring the land, mingling with flock members, and snoozing in the sun.

ADOPT HER

It’s not too late to get your mom, mother figure, or yourself a Mother’s Day gift that honors your loved ones while protecting others.

Despite their traumatic experiences, these rescued residents found love, healing, and chosen families at our sanctuaries. Because of the compassionate Farm Sanctuary community, they’ll remain together in this protected space for life.

Thank you for helping us fulfill the promise of sanctuary. Together, we can help open hearts to farm animals’ loving bonds and allow more families to grow old — together.

Love,

Farm Sanctuary
