I have the one of the best moms in the entire world.

I mean, just look at us! You can't get much better than this strong, Long Island mom and her strong-willed, Long Island kid:

My Mom and Me!

She set me up for success. She raised me in a community filled with opportunity for energetic and rambunctious kids. As the referee for a houseful of boys, she taught me the importance of treating people fairly, even when it doesn't make them happy. She taught me how to lead, how to advocate for myself, how to ask questions, and how to get up and keep going when I fail.

And so, when I decided to run for school board at 18 years old, she had my back on day one. She's had it every day since.

Now, I'm taking on a new adventure. I'm running to serve the people of Long Island and Queens in the United States House of Representatives, because every day, my mom shows me the very best that this district has to offer. I want to make sure that my mom – and the thousands of tough, smart, loving mothers in NY-03 – have a Congressman who'll fight as hard for them in Washington as they fight for us every day.
