Hi John,
Flowers and chocolates are nice, but what moms really need this Mother’s Day is policy change.
It's a dark time in America and so many of us feel sick to our stomachs thinking about our children's future. Like so many moms, I stay up at night worrying. I worry when my kids go to school if they are safe from the senseless acts of gun violence that have become an epidemic. I worry about the fact that our planet is deteriorating, and unless we see climate action, there will be no Earth left for our future generations. I worry about the trans kids who are being targeted and denied gender-affirming medical care.
I worry that if we don’t demand action and take steps to defend our rights, our children will grow up with fewer rights than we have now. Mamas, we can't let that happen. We need to fight back.
We need leaders who know what we are facing, and who will fight for our children as hard as they fight for their own.
That’s why it’s so crucial that we elect Democratic moms from the School Board all the way up to the U.S. Senate who understand that inaction is not an option. Vote Mama has supported over 400 pro-choice, Democratic moms since launching in 2019 -- and we’re just getting started.
