Hello, True Texan friends!
We are 1/2 way through our May meetings. Don't miss out if you haven't attended one yet! Here's where Fran, Susan and I will be this week:
May 15 - Bay Area (Julie); Collin County (Susan)
May 16 - Williamson County (Fran); Denton (Susan)
May 18 - Katy Area launch w/ TEXIT's Daniel Miller! (Julie & Fran); Longview Area (Susan)
Did you catch that special one?A new launch! We will have our first meeting for the Katy Area on Thursday! Tell everyone you know! (Check out my PS note at the end to see how that works).
But those aren't ALL the meetings we have... there are bunch more, as you will see towards the end of this email. One event that I think sounds super fun is Trivia Night in Brazos. Take a look at all we are offering, and get plugged in!
Election Results
After tallying up all the wins, losses and runoffs, True Texas Project sits at a 50% win rate! Not bad considering that's an average of blue AND red areas. Of course, we know that MOST of our recommendations are merely the lesser of 2 evils, but please hear me when I say, we are making great strides in infiltrating these dark areas! In several locations we now have conservative majorities; in other locations we have broken the barrier and gotten at least one of our peeps on the board. We believe things will only continue to move our direction as more and more voters wake up to the indoctrination happening, especially in the government schools.
Another important point to note is the sheer numbers of folks going to our website to check out our voter guide. Literally 1000s and 1000s of Texans across the state are learning that our website it the go-to resource for voting recommendations in any election. We are definitely making a difference! Keep up the good work.
Not Quite So Fast...
You didn't think elections were over did you?
We aren't done yet... There were 11 races we were following that are now in a runoff. If that's true for your area, offer your help. These local campaigns run on meager budgets and are already exhausted and depleted. They'd love for you to provide encouragement.Early voting is May 30-June 6, and Election Day is June 10. Get it on your calendar so you don't miss it!
The TTP website will be updated soon with these races.
This Week In Pictures...
Citizen Advocate Training was held in Robertson County. True Texas Project was invited by the County GOP, and we'll be doing more classes there soon!
We had an old friend welcome us into a new venue for our Dallas County satellite. Fave Congressman Louie Gohmert joined us on Thursday night for a large & appreciative crowd!
Fran's Legislative Update
We are very disappointed in the how things are playing out in the House after the Senate did their heavy lifting early on to move priority bills. We only have 2 weeks left in session, and things are not looking good for some of our priority legislation. We need to pick our battles carefully and focus on the things that can still have a chance of success before the end of session.
The Friday Citizen Advocate message highlights some things that we can still work on that have a chance of making it through the process, including specific action items and contact information. If you haven't read it yet, click the box below.
We continue to have a big presence at the Capitol every week. Last Tuesday our group registered for 5 bills being heard in committee; one person testified for one of the bills in committee; we delivered position papers on an important election bill to all 31 Senators and the Lt Gov; we filled out about 100 red or green cards for Calendars Committee and delivered them to committee members' offices (I think Calendars Committee staffers hate us right now); and we wrote dozens of post cards to House State Affairs and Elections committees who have bills stuck in committee without hearings. It was a busy day!
We'll be at the Capitol again on Tuesday, May 16, to continue the work. Please join us if you can. We'll meet up in the Rotunda at 10. Email [email protected] with questions.

For Texas, Julie McCarty, CEO on behalf of the True Texas team
PS. The other night a gal told me she had a friend in Tarrant County AND a friend in Austin tell her about True Texas Project in the Brazos Valley, and recommend she go. She did and loved it. So then she told her friend in Houston to start going to the TTP there. This is how building the army happens!!!
Who can you share True Texas Project with? We are likely in their area too!
