I know this debt ceiling conversation can get complicated, so I wanted to take a quick moment to break it down for you.

If America defaults on our debts, we won’t be able to pay our bills. That means members of the military might not get their salaries and retirees might not receive Social Security benefits.

There’s a reason this has never happened before in American history – but Republicans are doing everything in their power to make history and plunge our country into an economic crisis.

This is why it’s so critical that we keep control of the Senate. A GOP majority would simply be an economic catastrophe.
