For me and many of my colleagues, yesterday's vote to convict the President in the impeachment trial was one of the toughest moments of our careers. But no one faced a harder vote than my friend Doug Jones of Alabama.

Voting your conscience as a Democrat from a state that Donald Trump won by 27 points takes tremendous courage, and I want to personally ask you to join me in showing Doug Jones we've got his back as he heads into a tough re-election fight this year.

Doug Jones is already facing a tidal wave of attacks from the Trump GOP over his principled vote. And if we're going to win back the Senate, we need to hold Doug's Senate seat and also win in Virginia. Will you make a contribution today to help Doug Jones and I win this November?

Whether it's Roy Moore, who Doug beat last time around, or former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, one of the architects of the Trump family separation policy — they're coming after Doug for this vote. That's where we come in. Doug Jones won Alabama and he can win it again, but not without our help.
