John -- I just wanted to take a few seconds of your time to say thank you for supporting our campaign for Congress here in the South Sound.

Since we’ve launched this campaign, I wake up excited about the work we have ahead of us and the opportunity I have to serve you in the U.S. House. No matter how bad things look in the other Washington, giving up isn’t an option.

Right now, we need a champion who will fight for our communities, our planet, and our collective future. News broke recently that another one of our endangered southern resident orcas likely died. Our Puget Sound orcas are starving to death because for far too long we’ve lacked the political will to take action on the scale necessary to save them.

I’ve been lucky to spend the past 10 years working here in WA-10 under retiring Congressman Denny Heck’s leadership. I’ve helped found the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus and helped lead efforts to bring more than $25 million in new funding back to the Puget Sound restoration to start saving our resident orcas and salmon runs -- and I know what it will take to continue building on Congressman Heck’s work in Congress.

We need someone who won’t shy away from taking bold action based on science, and if you elect me to represent WA-10 this November, I’ll continue serving you to the best of my abilities.

But I can’t do this on my own. That’s why I’m asking for 85 donors to pitch in before tomorrow night to support my campaign.
