[link removed] [[link removed]] Hi John, my name is Stephen Kelly.

I was honored to spend more than three decades in public service committed to preserving the rule of law and upholding the integrity of our government.

I worked alongside Robert Mueller during the Special Counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

I also served for more than ten years as a senior FBI executive responsible for the legal oversight of all FBI criminal and domestic terrorism programs and for the FBI’s interactions with Congress.

Today, recently retired, I’m coming to you as a new member of the board of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

From inside our government, I have seen first hand how our republic is under threat from corruption, compromised ethics, and a declining commitment to democratic principles among some in power.

Now more than ever, we must demand higher ethical standards and greater transparency from our leaders, as well as insisting on full accountability for their conduct under the law.

CREW is committed to these principles, and that’s proven essential to protecting and strengthening our democracy in recent years.

This month, I’ll be joining CREW’s president, Noah Bookbinder, to speak about why, based on my decades in federal law enforcement and policy positions, CREW’s work is so important and what’s coming next in our fight for a strong democracy.

We’ll break down the latest investigations, answer your questions and discuss CREW’s work – from Donald Trump to Clarence Thomas.
