Congresswoman Jahahna Hayes said it best, “I did not come to Congress to starve children.”

Recently, Rep. Jahana Hayes strongly spoke out against the Limit, Save, Grow Act, which addresses the critical state of the current debt ceiling.

This act, as Jahana has loudly admonished, would strip millions of Americans of benefits by expanding so-called work requirements in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).

SNAP already has a work requirement for individuals ages 18 to 49, but radical supporters of the bill want to expand this to older Americans and seniors who face age discrimination in the workplace already.

John , 34 million Americans struggle with food insecurity – 9 million of them children.

It's important to remember that many people who rely on SNAP are working , but simply don't earn enough to make ends meet. It is horrible that GOP extremists are choosing to hold the economy hostage and using vulnerable families as a bargaining tool, all while we are amidst an inflation crisis.
