Dear Friend,

Over the last few weeks, as the mainstream media has done wall-to-wall
horse race coverage of the presidential election and impeachment,
they've missed a LOT of news that matters:

The EPA implemented the biggest rollback to clean water protections the
country has ever seen.

Trump told global economic elites in Davos, Switzerland, that he would
gut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid if he serves another term.

Australia's climate crisis-fueled wildfires were followed by news that a
massive Antarctic ice sheet that scientists call the Doomsday Glacier is
melting at a terrifying rate.

Chances are, people who rely on the corporate media haven't heard about
most of these stories—and dozens of others that are profoundly important
but routinely ignored. Common Dreams is different. We follow the news
that matters, not just the news that gets ratings. Will you donate to
help support our nonprofit, independent coverage of important issues,
like the climate crisis and income inequality, ignored by the corporate
media?

On any given day, you can go to Common Dreams and find deep, in-depth
coverage on issues you won't find discussed anywhere else. We're focused
on all the news that threatens our health, our democracy, and the very
future of our planet. We're writing about the expansion of the
billionaire class—some 2,100 people worldwide who have more wealth than
4.6 billion people. And when we do focus on stories like the
presidential election or impeachment, we ignore the horse race and
mindless punditry and zero in on how these issues affect people's lives.
That's because we don't survive on clicks and ratings. We don't want
corporate advertising dollars. Common Dreams is different because we're
nonprofit and funded by you, not corporate advertisers. Will you chip in
to help us continue our independent coverage of the news the matters?
