Tomorrow is Mother’s Day -- and we’re heartbroken thinking about the horrifying reality mothers have to face due to the endless mass shootings in this country.

Almost a year ago, a daughter watched her mom die right in front of her as they were running from gunfire in the Highland Park, Illinois shooting.

Just weeks ago, a mother and several others were slaughtered in an execution-style shooting in Cleveland, Texas by a neighbor with an AR-15.

Just days ago, a mother was killed while covering her son’s body to save him from the gunman in Allen, Texas who shot up a mall with an AR-15.

We cannot go on like this.


In honor of all mothers, we need to stand up to cowardly lawmakers who refuse to take action. Because what moms really want this Mother’s Day is a legislative change to protect their children from mass shootings. We’re calling on 800 supporters to stand with us to help fund our efforts to pressure our legislators to FINALLY reinstate the federal assault weapons ban before our mothers lose any more. Can you chip in $15 before midnight? Every dollar goes to electing gun safety champions who are dedicated to getting weapons of war out of our communities. >>


We can’t say this enough:

Mothers should NEVER have to endure impossible conversations with their kids about what to do if a shooter enters their school.

Mothers should NEVER have to watch their children beg for their lives during a mass shooting, only to have to tell them to keep running from the bullets.

Mothers should NEVER have to jump in front of the barrel of an assault rifle to protect their children from slaughter.

But the reality is, every year, 19,000 children are shot and killed or wounded.


Our moms deserve better. Our children deserve better. Our communities deserve better. And we won’t stop fighting until we get an assault weapons ban on the books in every single state.
